Top 5 Ways to Market Your Business in 2021 (6-Figure Strategies)

How to market your business in 2021 with these top 5 marketing strategies. These marketing strategies are what helped me scale to 6-figures in the first year of running my small business. It's time to stop posting whenever you feel like it and develop a strong strategy that gets new customers in front of your brand, interested in your products, and pressing the check out button. Comment down below which strategy you plan to use in 2021 to market your business and make sales as an entrepreneur.

Today, I will be showing you the top five strategies I use to scale my e-commerce business to six figures in the first year. Marketing is so important for three reasons. One, it introduces your brand to audiences that do not know about you already. Second, it takes those new audiences and gets them interested in your brand and product selection. And lastly, it gets those people to press the buy button and purchase items from your website. The most important thing to know is that you cannot just rely on one channel to support your marketing efforts, you have to diversify. And that's what I'm going to help you with today. So let's get started.

Hey, guys, I'm Joi, and I post all about business, life, and beauty content here on my channel. Make sure you press the subscribe button and turn on the notification bell to see more content like this. Also, this video is going to be an informed one, so make sure you have your notebook ready and jot down all five steps. And once you're done watching the video, comment below on the number one strategy you're going to use this year to market your business.

The first marketing strategy that you should implement is email marketing. We all know what email marketing is. It's when a brand will send out a curated email of images and text to you to support the selling of their products. Email Marketing is one of the most critical elements of having an online store because it is one of the few channels where you own the emails and data of your audience. When you think about social media, there is no way for you to contact those people besides being on that platform. With email, there's no algorithm, and you can send out emails as you like.

For email marketing, I use klaviyo. I recently switched over to it from a different email marketing platform, and I highly recommend it. It's robust, and it's great for all store sizes so that you can grow into the platform. Klaviyo has so many cool features. For example, it shows you the sales you get per email. You can send out an email and see how many sales you get, customer data, and customer journey analytics so you can see who's abandoned their cart. Lastly, klaviyo can set up different automation like welcome and abandoned cart sequences. If you're interested in checking out klaviyo, make sure you go to the link in the description box. I'll also list some alternatives because klaviyo is on the pricier side. But it's so justified because of all the features it has. If you're starting, choose klaviyo, so you can grow into it, or choose a different option and switch over. I regret just not starting with klaviyo initially because migrating your emails is just a pain.

The second marketing strategy to use is text message marketing. When you have your customers' phone numbers, you can send them text messages about your products, launches, sales, and updates. Text message marketing is so cool because the open rates and engagement are insane. When you think about it, every time you see a text message, you always open it to see who it was from and what it says. If you have a Shopify store, you need to check out the SMS bump app because it is great for text message marketing. You can see your customers, get them to opt-in via pop-ups, and get their permission to send you texts. And they're great with keeping up with all the new communications and messaging laws so you can make sure that you're compliant.

SMS bump has a monthly fee as well as a fee per text message. And they have a few different plans so you can accommodate your budget. But text message marketing is so insane, the return on investment is crazy. And I've seen some really valuable results in my store. You can also integrate that with your email marketing. When people sign up, you're their email and phone number and permission to send them messages via both of those channels. You might be thinking, "okay, I know that I need to do these things, but how to get people on those lists." There are two ways to go about this. The first way is your organic route by posting blog posts, social media posts and asking people who watch those to join your email list. Now, this is a very slow process, especially if you don't have an existing audience. I have a YouTube channel, so it was very quick to grow my email list and text message list. However, there is another way that's even more speedy and gets you really good results.

Marketing Strategy number three is running paid advertising. Think of Facebook ads, Instagram ads, YouTube ads, TikTok, and Pinterest. All of the main social platforms have ads to purchase to get in front of your audience. One thing I want you to know is that ads do work ( if done properly). Many people start running social media ads without knowing anything about marketing, funnels, customer journeys, or even knowing their ideal audience. All those things are critical to know before you spend one penny on an ad. It's because ads only amplify what you're already doing. If your website isn't getting sales without paying for ads, it will not get sales. Ads are just getting extra eyeballs in front of what you're doing, so you have more chances to get those sales. I had to learn this by investing in a coaching program and a Power your Launch Marketing Accelerator course. I joined the accelerator in 2019, and I cannot live without this in my business. I highly encourage you to consider looking into some type of coaching or education about paid advertising. This is because so many people will spend money and not see results and then negate ads as a viable way to get customers.

I have seen so many great results from ads. I've spent over $100,000 on paid advertising to date for my business, and my business only launched in February 2020. They do work, and you do not have to spend a lot of money like I did to see results. My coach in the Power Launch Accelerator teaches you how to start running ads with only $5 a day and see results. I'm going to leave the link in the description box to get more information about run ads. I do not want you to go off this video and, just you know, boosted Instagram posts. That is not how you run ads. They're strategies. It takes a while to learn the skill. So I'm going to link that down below. I highly recommend it and the coach. I've seen it result only because of this course.

Marketing strategy number four is social media. But more specifically, video on social media. I think everyone needs to prioritize video on their organic social channels. If you're not ready to get in front of people and post on your profiles, you need to be posting videos. This is because video has more reach, you can get in front of more people, and your audience is more likely to be engaged with that video content. Also, it's always better to show, not tell. With video, you can show testimonials, demos, and so much more with videos. Video is also on this list because of how much Instagram is pushing Instagram reels and Tik Tok. I think you can have a good amount of reach in your business by doing just organic promotion.

The final strategy for your marketing plan should be live streams. They're another form of video content except that it's live. They're a great way to connect with your audience on a personal basis in real-time. You can answer their questions, do demos, and get to connect with them. Live streams are a great way to convert your audience to sales because you can have limited offers and discounts exclusive to people who are watching. There are so many different ways that you can utilize live streams in your business. And if you do it on a platform like Facebook, people can share the live stream with their friends. Facebook also has features like live shopping and the ability to add links to your live stream. Amazon also has live shopping options. Live streams are going to become more important to the shopping ecosystem. So I'd make sure to set a schedule to connect with your audience in real-time. To recap, the five things you should have in your marketing strategy are email marketing, text marketing, paid ads, and organic video on socials and live streams. Don't just lean on one. It would be best if you had an ecosystem of these things to move your customers down the marketing funnel.

I hope you've been taking notes because I have two action items for you. One, I want you to leave a comment down below to let me know the first item you're going to prioritize for this year.
