Pattern Beauty by Tracee Ellis Ross Review on 4b/4c Natural Hair

Is Pattern Beauty Type 4 Hair Friendly?

Is Pattern Beauty by Tracee Ellis Ross 4c Hair Friendly? Today I will be washing and conditioning my hair with Pattern Beauty products to see if it passes the test.

Hey guys, it's Joi. I need y'all to get pumped for this video because I'm reviewing Pattern Beauty. I ordered it the second that it became available before it sold out. I'm doing a giveaway at the end for products that are sold out on their website. Make sure you watch the whole video so you can get the details about the giveaway.

I purchased a lot. These products are not cheap, and my cart was over $150. I'm just going to show you my routine wash day first impressions, and I'm so excited. I got the shampoo, the conditioner, leave-in conditioner, jojoba oil, and the brush.

shampoo

We're starting with the shampoo. The first thing about this collection is the awesome packaging. The shampoo is actually in a smaller bottle than the conditioner, which I think is cute. When I first saw the consistency of the shampoo, I was a little turned off. It didn't look that creamy. I'm like any shampoo that lathers like this usually dries out my hair. But eventually, I started to notice that it was it wasn't feeling that dry. I tried to finger detangle my hair with the shampoo in it. But it didn't work. So this isn't really like a detangling shampoo, it's just a cleansing one. The shampoo was oil-based. That's what I think makes this shampoo unique. When I rinsed my hair out, my hair was soft. I don't know the last time I had a shampoo that lathers like this, and then I rinse it out, and my hair was soft. It felt like I did a deep conditioner just because the shampoo has so many good oils in it.

conditioner

Let's get into the actual conditioner. I got the conditioner for coilys, and it was thick. I was very excited about it being super thick. As soon as you apply it to your hair, your hair magically starts separating, making it easier to detangle. I start finger detangling my hair, and compared to when I ran my fingers through with the shampoo, and it was a whole new world. I was very glad that this thick conditioner was helping my hair get detangled.

brush

So at this point, I'm excited about the brush. I separate my hair, and I start to put it in small sections. Now, this brush has nine rows, and I have my brush adjusted to four rows. The small bottom portion, I'm trying readjusting to do like even smaller sections and smaller increments, and it's taking forever. This brush has too many rows. If you have a looser hair texture, get this brush, but I wouldn't even mess with the brush if you have tighter hair. The actual bristles were harder and less flexible than the ones on my Denman brush.

I decided to just finger detangle with the conditioner, and then once I get out of the shower, I'm going to finish the detangling process with my Denman brush, which comes to save the detangling day. But this conditioner was awesome. If there's one word to describe this line, it's soft. Your hair will be so soft after using these products.

styling

Once my hair is dry and smells fresh. Now, it's time to get out of the shower and add the leave-in conditioner.

I did not buy the towel because I already have a microfiber towel that's by Diva Curl. Next, I'm using the leave-in conditioner. It was way more liquidity than I thought it would be. It's not thick, which I was concerned about because my hair only likes thick things.

This isn't the product line that doesn't have any styling products. So don't leave any comments about like definition because these aren't styling products. These are just like cleansing and conditioning products. Sometimes you can get a good conditioner that does helps define your curls. But, I wasn't expecting much since I used the shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner.

I have the oil to do last, and I'm going to do that once my hair is dry. I'll probably throw my hair and some twists or braids. But this is not that kind of a tutorial. This is just a product review. So if you want to see my braid out, I'll have them linked in my hair video playlist.

ending review

I think these products were pretty good. The shampoo was great after I rinsed it out. My hair was super soft. I was kind of scared when I saw it lathering, but it made my hair super soft. And they both smell great, not like like too fruity or anything. They smell very natural and not overpowering or overbearing. And the brush, I think I need to adjust it. Nine rows are way too much for my texture of hair.
