Emerge Hair Care Review on Type 4 Natural Hair

Full and honest review of Emerge Haircare products on type 4 natural hair.

Today we are reviewing Emerge hair care which is a new brand available at Target. All tools in this video are from my new brand Joiful Bee which the waitlist link is in the description box. So I am starting on two-week-old hair basically after having my hair in some twist. And yeah, let's get started! Make sure you subscribe down below for more hair care videos and reviews.

Shampoo

We're starting with the It's Not Happening sulfate-free shampoo, which is for curly and coily textures. And this is a cleansing and detangling shampoo. And it is infused with almond milk. So one thing you should know about Emerge as a brand is that it's formulated without sulfates, parabens, and silicones. All that bad stuff is not in this haircare line. And that applies to all the products that we're going to be using today.

So I applied the shampoo to my scalp only. And I like to get up all the dirt and buildup with my scalp massage and shampoo brush from Joiful Bee. This brush is amazing. The bristles are not too hard, not too plasticky. They're very soft silicone. And it helps to give me a spotlight feel when I'm doing my wash day and get out all the dirt, especially around my edges and areas that I'm applying edge control and doing different gels and stuff. You want to get that buildup up from around your hair.

Scalp Brush

The scalp massaging brush is also great for people who work out a lot or have sweat or sweat a lot because it's just giving you the best clean possible that you can have. So as you can see, I'm going around my edges area because that area is where I get the most buildup. And this is just the best part of my wash day. It feels so amazing when I'm using the scalp massage and shampoo brush. So I did go in a little bit more shampoo to my hands. I enjoyed the shampoo. It left my hair very soft and not dry. That's what I need. I don't need the shampoo to leave my hair dry. My hair was super soft after using this.

Conditioner

So afterward, you can go in with their Smooth Mover conditioner, or you can do how I did and just went straight to the Back to Life Hair mask. But both products are super thick and smell good. So this is probably the fourth or fifth time that I've used the deep conditioner. And I like it because I always detangle my hair when I have a deep conditioner in so I need something with a lot of slip. And something that is you know going to give my hair an excellent treatment. So you can see that I am going to apply the conditioner to my hair, but that's my hair just after the shampoo. It's already starting to get definition, and it's looking great. So I apply that deep conditioner to my head. Just in like some blobs like that, and then I go ahead and smooth it into my hair. So if you have a natural hair period, you need to be deconditioning every time you wash. If you wash once a week, then decondition, wash my hair two times a week, so I make sure I deep condition my hair.

Deep Conditioning Cap

If you have low porosity hair and find that your hair has trouble maintaining moisture throughout the week, I suggest going in with a microwavable deep conditioning cap. So I'm going to show you how I prep my hair for that. So basically, I put my hair in four bantu knots. I twist the hair onto itself, and this helps keep everything sectioned off. When it's time to detangle, so as you can see, I'm just applying a little bit more deep conditioner to each section before I go ahead and twist it up and prep it for my deep conditioning cap. Working in sections makes wash day go by so much faster and makes it way more manageable when it comes to detangling and styling my hair afterward.

Emerge is a pretty cool brand because all the products are $6.99, and you can easily buy them online. I'll have all the products linked down below, and I was thoroughly impressed at how these products work, don't my hair. My hair was moisturized for days after wash day. As I said, the shampoo didn't leave my hair dry. It left my hair soft, which I loved, and I was just really impressed with this line. So after I put my hair in four sections, I put a plastic cap on, and then I put on my deep conditioning cap. So what I do is I pop that in the microwave, and then it's nice and warm, and then I can put that on my head and deep condition for 10 to 15 minutes. So this is me after I've come back from deep conditioning, and it is time for me to detangle. Notice that I keep the conditioner in my hair while I'm detangling. This makes it go by so much faster and keeps it way less knotty.

Detangling

So I'm going in with my favorite brush of all time, like my favorite, and it happens to be the honeycomb detangling brush from my haircare brand at Joiful Bee. So if you're not on the waitlist for the next launch of Joiful Bee, you need to join the waitlist at Joiful Bee.com. I'll have it linked down below. There are almost 2,000 of you guys on the waitlist. And you guys are just left with so many good reviews about the kits, the people who bought on the first launch, literally five-star reviews across the board. And a lot of people were impressed with the brush. It's so hard for me to explain how good this brush works because many people were skeptical at first, and I was just like, sis do you see how my hands are running through my hair? This brush is magical. It bends and twists with your tangle, so it does not rip your hair. If you start at the ends and work your way up to the root, it goes by super fast.

And as you can see, I'm holding my brush vertically to detangle and then horizontally to define the curls. So yeah, this brush works magic. It does not cause breakage, it's just A1 sauce, and I'm happy I could bring this brush to you guys, especially my type for kinky coily girls who need something that works and is not going to take them hours to detangle their hair. So as you can see, my fingers run through my hair super smooth. And there's not that much-shed hair after doing that section.

Leave-in Conditioner

Now we will rinse out that deep conditioner, and I'm going to add a leaving conditioner. The Emerge leave-in conditioner is called My Main BFF, and it's infused with oil, and it's nourishing and smoothing. So it's $6.99 like all of the other products, and basically, the goal for all their products is moisturizing and reducing frizz. As you can see, my hair is super defined before I even apply the leave-in conditioner. So I'm just going to apply for a big healthy pump. I love leaving the conditioner. That's my favorite part of my routine because it only sets the base for any products you put on after it. And as you can see, it's moved through my hair so nicely between using their deep conditioner and the Joiful Bee detangling brush like my hair is so smooth. My detangling brush does wonders, sis. So I'm adding that leaving conditioner.

Overview

Once again, I loved all the products in this line. The only product I don't use in this tutorial is their gel, the gel is very liquidy, and I didn't think it did much for me. But if you like gels, you can try it for $6.99. You know you're not spending an arm and a leg to try the whole line. Once again, after I left-in the conditioner, I like to put my hair back up in four sections, so my hair doesn't get tangled again. While I'm, you know, drying my hair and taking a little break before I begin styling my hair, I usually don't go right into styling unless I'm doing, you know, four braids like I've done in previous tutorials, but today I'm doing a protective style.

Styling

So I'm just going to keep my hair in four sections while I'm waiting to do the rest of my hair, so I'm using the Joiful Bee microfiber turban towel. You need to use a microfiber towel, period because regular cotton towels cause breakage, which is a little bit later. I'm using the emerge my everything buttercream to put my hair into single braids. I wish I could do mini braids and had patience, so I do like medium-sized braids on my hair. I add the cream and braid, so this buttercream, in conjunction with the leaving conditioner, left my hair so moisturized throughout the week.

Final Thoughts

This is just awesome. It left my hair defined and beautiful, and I added some jewels to make everything look cute. So being inside, I like to keep my hair and styles like this to minimize breakage and help my hair grow. So I don't have to keep doing it every day. So I hope you guys go check out this line links in the description for Joiful Bee and Emerge products. And I'll talk to you guys next time. Bye
